The origin of LEAD Now
From the safety of my cabin in the north Georgia mountains in the US where I have been “on retreat” for the last seven months with my wife and grandson, I find God prompting me to step forward. A coach colleague suggested it is time to move beyond reacting to - to creating from. In addition, this picture is artist Kadir Nelson's evocative response to the pandemic, and it has inspired my thinking. I noticed the eyes of each person are looking forward. There is a possibility emerging.

My calling now is to see where the world’s needs and my specific skills, passions and experiences intersect. In response, I have created LEAD Coaching Groups for church and nonprofit leaders. I specifically envision ministers, lay leaders, superintendents, presbyters, executive
officers, administrators, and other key leaders being benefitting.
It is my hope that the group’s participants will become leaven for the work that they do together with others in their ministry settings.
I am an ordained elder in the North Alabama conference and was the first United Methodist clergy to be officially endorsed for the Ministry of Life Coaching. My ministry allows me to work with a variety of church and non-profit groups across the United States and the world. I am already leading 3 groups with participants from the United States and the United Kingdom.
Tim Pottle is my colleague and friend who is co-creating and co-leading LEAD NOW. Tim is the Associate Director for Partnerships at the Skoll Centre for Social Enterprise as well as a professional coach and mentor. He lives in Oxford, United Kingdom, and has extensive travels around the globe. Tim is a trustee of www.discoveringprayer.com and www.viva.org and is an active member of his local Anglican church.
